Eckson Sanctuary became a Community Interest Company in 2023 to enable them to continue to care for a variety of animals.

They care for some unwanted and retired farm animals including Pigs, Sheep, Alpacas, Goats, Cats (and other small furries) Rheas and a variety of birds. Many have been part of their positive mental health and therapy program which has benefitted groups, including ex service personnel.

Sadly, the site they are on is being reclaimed by the owner and they are being strongly persuaded to leave as soon as possible. The stress these guys are under to protect the animals and themselves has put them near to breaking point. As a rescue we are trying to help.

A new site has been found on the north edge of Luton, but it requires some work before it is ready to be called home.

We are reaching out to Animal passionate people who would be able to give some of their time and effort to help rebuild this wonderful enterprise.

On Sat 17th August 2024 from 9am we need help to clear the new site. Cutting long grass, trimming bushes, trees, shrubs, nipping to the skip etc.

The site has no power or water yet and we have limited tools at our disposal. Any willing hands, especially ones with their own equipment, would be welcomed with open arms, light snacks and drinks.

If you would like to join our group of volunteers on the day and maybe become involved with the building and shaping of the future of the new location of Eckson Sanctuary CIC, we would love to hear from you.

Any help with Tools, Building materials, Transport, Animal feed and Bedding would also be much appreciated.

The future of these animals and their carers is dependent on getting things sorted as soon as possible.

Thank you and we look forward to meeting new friends.
