tabby and white cat

Become a foster carer……

We rely on fosterers to provide temporary homes for the animals in our care. Fostering a cat helps them recover from situations that include neglect, illness, injury or simply just the absence of appropriate accommodation.

A loving foster home is the first steps towards them finding their new forever home. We need more people willing to open up their homes, and their hearts, to help give these cats a fresh start in life. Some cats that we take in have either suffered or are not used to care and affection. Living with a foster family provides them with one-to-one care, allowing them to build up their confidence and get used to a family lifestyle.

In return for your time and care, you will get to see a cat blossom and benefit from knowing you have played a key part in helping a rescued animal find a loving forever home. Fostering also gives people who would normally be unable to take in an animal long-term, due to other commitments, a chance to have a cat around.

What we ask of you:

• To have a pet free space where the cat can initially be to settle in.

• Time to give to a cat during the day and / or evening.

• Transport in case of an emergency.

• A passion for helping a cat adjust and blossom.

• An understanding that every cat is different and not every cat will be clean and tidy.

• To be able to give a good description of the cats’ personality and needs to a potential adopter.

• To allow Feline Rescue representatives and potential adopters to visit the cat in your home and complete adoption forms when needed.

• To enjoy the experience. We will provide:

• All food and litter needed.

• All equipment required. Toilet trays, beds, toys, safe space cages and food bowls.

• Access to veterinary care.

• Support and encouragement.
